Someone Loves You

We all know that
There are days that just
DON'T
Seem to care if they bother you;
Days of trouble,
Days of despair,
Days that triumph over you, heels on back,
Grinding your face into the rough pavement, saying,
"You are nothing in this world."
"Give up, loser; you're going nowhere."
"Don't even try – your efforts are useless."
It is those dark days that make your chafed face cry,
Cry globes of clear tears on the roadway.

Know this, that
Through those times of trouble
When the world just
DOESN'T
Seem to care to bother you
To see if everything is all right,
There is still
Someone
Who will find you
While you lie prostrate and held to the ground;
Who will wipe away your tears,
And hold your hand,
And ease your pain as much as they can
While your Burden weighs you down.

As the moments spent together pass
A strong bond can form,
Between you and that Someone,
Of Trust,
Compassion,
And true Friendship.
Strengthened in confidence,
And with a firm belief in your potential
As a Wonderful and Great Human Being,
Having been encouraged by a Good and Caring Friend,
You CAN begin to remove that Burden.

But without assistance,
The Burden can't be completely thrown off;
Your Friend will be there to succour you
But there is only so much they can do
Until you willingly ask for their help.
With their support, the Burden can be cast off
And that Someone, that Friend,
Will raise you up and lift the hands which hang down,
Brush off the dirt, and bandage the open wounds.

With tears of joy and hugs of gratitude,
Two lives have changed and developed;
One has learned to trust and believe, and
One has learned compassion and charity.
Know that, in times of hardship and trial,
Someone
Will always be there;
